The road to Finn Partners

Gill was appointed Managing Partner of Finn Partners Health in 2015 after a 12-year tenure at Makovsky & Company as Health Practice Director.

According to Peter Finn, Founding Partner of Finn Partners,

Gil is among the health public relations sector’s most proven leaders. Gil has been at the helm of ‘Most Admired Health PR Agencies’ an unprecedented three times. He brings award-winning expertise encompassing pharma brand-building, product reimbursement, and corporate, executive, and issues reputation management. Beyond sheer knowledge, he is a mentor with a stellar client retention track-record.

Gil’s career is rooted in healthcare.  He was a paratrooper combat medic and trade association lobbyist for a New Jersey health-products consortium. He launched a successful health PR agency later acquired by Medicus, where he was named by Inside PR as “Health PR All-Star.”  He was the first global Practice Director of the Hill and Knowlton Health and Pharmaceutical Practice and later a leader in WPP Group’s integrated marketing agency CommonHealth.

Afterward, he became an operating company CEO and a limited partner at one of the nation’s largest private-equity firms, Chicago-based GTCR, and led acquisition efforts targeting health marketing and communications firms.  He joined New York-based Makovsky in 2002 and was named by PR News as one of the nation’s “Leading Crisis Communicators” and inducted into its “PR Hall of Fame.” He is co-author of Branding Health Services: Defining Yourself in the Marketplace.

Gil was chosen as a MM&M Top 10 Innovation Catalyst and by PRWeek/MM&M as a Top 50 Health Influencer. He is an American Heart Association and Marfan Foundation advocate for patient engagement and access to care

Not satisfied with this distinguished career, he settled in at Finn Partners and soon established Finn Partners Global Health Practice as the go-to agency for emerging healthcare brands and companies, not only within the U.S. but globally. If you want to make your mark in healthcare, this is where you turn for partnerships that are based on principles far loftier than simple business.

On the subject of his chosen field, Gil has this to say;

Communication was always an interest, specifically in health and gov’t-a passion for helping people stay alive and the decisions surrounding their care – recognizing there was no need to eliminate one path for the other. Thus, public policy, communication and healthcare always embodied my early roles – in the military as a paratrooper unit combat medic, in gov’t affairs for a global non-profit and in work with the Australian Government. On the battlefield or policy huddle, I saw how communication will always be part of the care.

GIL BASHE

Gil remains eminently approachable and always has time for anyone within the industry. He is, in conjunction with Finn Partners, Medika Life’s number 1 recommendation for amplifying your ideas, your visions, and your business across the healthcare sector.
