Biographical Info

Kevin Day has over 30 years of experience assisting organizations across various industries to design, develop, and deploy business processing solutions. For the past 25 years, he has leveraged his expertise in X12, HL7, and NCPDP to help commercial health plans and state Medicaid agencies optimize transaction processing, reduce costs, and adhere to ever-changing industry and governmental regulations. The past 5 years Kevin has been providing guidance to Edifecs product teams and clients addressing Federal and State Data Privacy laws. As Principal Business Advisor at Edifecs, Kevin supports business solutions to help customers address HIPAA, CORE, MAO/MCO Encounter Data Reporting, and FHIR® mandates. Kevin also provides guidance on Edifecs’s interoperability architecture and represents Edifecs within various industry standards organizations. He has been an active participant in HL7® FHIR Accelerator’s Da Vinci and FAST programs, including as a co-lead of the FAST Consent Management Implementation Guide workgroup as well as The Sequoia Project’s co-lead of the InteropNow Data Privacy and Consent workgroup producing guidance to the industry on the challenges and means to achieve granular computable consent.
Kevin’s speaking experience includes multiple WEDI Forums, HIMSS, State HIT conferences along with numerous industry held Webinars speaking on the challenges health plans have adopting FHIR and its’ integration into existing legacy systems. His presentation at HIMSS25 “Data Privacy in the Age of Interoperability” drew interest from across the industry.
